I offer free 30-minute virtual consultations as an opportunity for us to connect, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore whether we feel like a good fit for working together. Finding the right therapeutic relationship is an important part of the counselling process and can greatly support meaningful growth and change. You are welcome to ask any questions about therapy, my approach, or the counselling process, and there is no pressure or commitment following the consultation.
You don’t have to be going through something extreme to benefit from therapy. Many people come when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their direction, or simply when they need a space to be seen, heard, and understood. Therapy can also be a place to slow down, reflect, and make sense of your experiences at your own pace.
What you share in therapy is kept confidential. Your privacy is an important part of creating a safe space where you can speak openly and honestly. Psychotherapists are guided by professional ethics and confidentiality standards, with a few legal and ethical exceptions:
- Imminent risk of harm to yourself or others.
- Suspected abuse or neglect of children, elderly, or vulnerable people.
- Court subpoenaed or ordered release of records.
Outside of these circumstances, your information is not shared without your consent. I also value a collaborative and transparent approach, which means that whenever possible, I would discuss the process together so you feel informed and supported.
The length of therapy varies for each person and depends on your goals, needs, and the concerns you would like to explore. Some clients find short-term therapy helpful for gaining clarity or support through a specific challenge, while others benefit from longer-term work focused on deeper patterns, healing, or personal growth. Therapy is a collaborative process that moves at a pace guided by what feels most helpful for you.
I offer virtual sessions through a secure Jane video platform, as well as in-person and phone sessions, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
I offer sessions in both English and Mandarin.
A Registered Psychotherapist is a regulated mental health professional who is trained to support individuals with emotional, psychological, relational, and behavioural challenges through psychotherapy. While psychotherapists do not prescribe medications or provide diagnosis, they can work collaboratively with other healthcare providers when additional support is needed.
Psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP.
Many extended health benefit plans in Canada provide coverage for services offered by Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying). It is recommended that you check with your insurance provider regarding your specific coverage if this is an important consideration for you.
Payment can be made by e-transfer or credit card. Direct billing may also be available for certain insurance providers.
If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, please kindly contact me at least 24 hours before. Cancellations made with less notice, or missed appointments, are subject to the full session fee.
